The North Carolina School Counselor Association works to provide a voice for the concerns of school counselors across the state. This is your opportunity to assist with that process! The goal of NCSCA is to have representation from every region and every LEA on legislative day to speak with our legislators about school counseling.
At this event, we promote issues that are of concern to school counselors and the children that we serve. The visits will also be an opportunity to educate our state senators and representatives on the wide range of responsibilities that we have as school counselors.
NCSCA members are needed especially this year to promote and ask for support of current bills involving counselor job descriptions, testing reform, reduction of student to counselor ratio, retirement issues, and salary scale for school counselors.
Registration Information
Registration fee: $10.00 (Lunch included)
Registration Deadline: Monday, June 7, 2010 (There will be limited on-site registration.)
Note: After May 31st, you may still register for Legislative Day 2010, but may need to make your own hotel arrangements. A list of area hotels will be provided upon request.
Need a place to stay?
We have reserved a block of rooms for out-of-town counselors at the Clarion in downtown Raleigh. The rooms are reserved for Tuesday, June 15th only. We will be subsidizing the cost of the rooms as long as we receive your registration by Monday, May 31st. We will make the hotel reservations for you provided that you complete the hotel information section on the registration form and include your cost in your check.
