Graduate Student Scholarship

The graduate scholarship is awarded to an accepted or current graduate student in a school counseling program. The scholarship is non renewable. The deadline to apply is April 30 for fall semester funding and September 30 for spring semester funding.

For Future School Counseling Students:

·      The NCSCA Professional School Counselor Scholarship is awarded to an accepted graduate student in a school counseling program in the state of North Carolina. The scholarship is non-renewable. The deadline to apply is April 30th for the next traditional school year.

·      The Scholarship Application Requirements:

o       Essay Questions

o       Resume/Vita with the following items:

§         Professional Presentations

§         Leadership Activities

§         Community Service Activities (documenting time spent)

§         Work and/or Internship Experiences

§         List of Awards or Honors

§         Other Extracurricular Activities

o       A copy of your transcript and test scores

o       A one-page description of your possible thesis or master’s project (if applicable)

o       Two letters of recommendation from professionals

·         Application Deadlines:

o       Applicants will be notified within two weeks of receipt or application.

o       Application review process will be closed for review on April 30th.
 

For Current Professional School Counselors in Training:

·      The NCSCA Scholarship for Professional School Counselors-in-training is awarded to a graduate student currently enrolled in a School Counseling program.

·         The Scholarship Application Requirements:

o       Essay Questions

o       Resume/Vita with the following items:

§         Professional Presentations

§         Leadership Activities

§         Community Service Activities (documenting time spent)

§         Work and/or Internship Experiences

§         List of Awards or Honors

§         Other Extracurricular Activities

o       A copy of your transcript and test scores

o       A one-page description of your possible thesis or master’s project (if applicable)

o       Two letters of recommendation from professionals

***Funding may go towards professional development opportunities, conferences, travel abroad, and tuition expenses.

·         Application Deadlines:

o       Applicants will be notified within two weeks of receipt of scholarship application.

o       Applications will be closed for review on April 30th for fall semester funding.

o       Applications will be closed for review on Sept. 30th for spring semester funding.

o       For example, if you want to receive funding for an opportunity or tuition for a semester beginning in August, you should submit your application by the previous April 30th.
