NCSCA Speakers Bureau!
Perhaps you are looking to provide professional school counselors in your district with an educational seminar on a counseling related issue. Maybe you’re a school counselor looking for a speaker for a parent education seminar. Or, you may have a specific area of expertise and are interested in conducting a workshop, in-service or presentation to other school audiences.
As Professional Development Chair it is my goal to offer school counselors and other educational stakeholders, such as teachers and parents, in-service presentations and workshops on a variety of topics responsive to the interests of practicing school counselors. NCSCA is currently in the process of building a statewide speakers bureau. If you have a topic suggestion or are interested in being on the bureau, please click here.

A Message from the NCSCA President:
Please find below details that might be helpful as you plan for the ASCA Conference in Atlanta on June 28-July 2, 2008.
The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has some helpful links at http://www.atlanta.net/, they can also be contacted via telephone at 404.521.6600.
If you would be interested in going to the Coca-Cola Factory to see how Coke is made and see where it all started as well as the Aquarium that has unique animals such as the Whale Shark, you can purchase a ticket for $36.50 for admission to both places. It is called the Pemberton Place Pass and can be purchased at the following website. http://www.worldofcoca-cola.
If you are interested in the life of Martin Luther King Jr. then you have come to the right place. The MLK tour is free and you do not need to make reservations. Just show up and tour the site. You do have to be in a group to see the house of his birth and that seems to fill up quickly so it's best to get there early if you are interested in that. For more information visit the website at http://www.nps.gov/malu/.
If you love flowers and would like to see all of them growing in the gardens of Atlanta you should visit The Atlanta Botanic Gardens. You can visit the website to get a taste of what the gardens offer at http://www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org/.
If you are caught up in the 2008 elections you should stop by The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and see some of the relics from his term as the Commander in Chief. The museum is $8 a person and you can check out the website to get an idea of what you might see while touring the library. The website address is http://www.jimmycarterlibrary.org/.
