Legislative Day Information
Legislative Day
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Registration with hotel Deadline: May 1, 2008 |
The North Carolina School Counselor Association works to provide a voice for the concerns of school counselors across the state. This is your opportunity to assist with that process! On Wednesday, June 4, counselors from across the state will come to Raleigh to receive training on legislative issues and spend the day at the NC Legislative Building talking with their legislators about important topics for school counselors in North Carolina. NCSCA hopes to have representation from all counties to meet legislators on this day At this event, we promote issues that are of concern to school counselors and the children that we serve. The visits will also be an opportunity to educate our state senators and representatives on the wide range of responsibilities that we have as school counselors. NCSCA members are needed especially this year to promote and ask for support of current bills involving counselor job descriptions, testing reform, reduction of student to counselor ratio, retirement issues and salary scale for school counselors. |
