    8:50 AM  Welcome

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM  Session I - FunEmployed: Making Career Counseling FUN & REAL – using the game “FunEmployed”, students explore their ability to build a “resume” and “interview” for actual jobs with absurd qualifications, teaching them to think outside the box and work with skills and qualifications they have! While the original version of this game is geared towards high school age students, changes and modifications will be shown to make it applicable for elementary and middle school students also! Counselors will walk away with a new ready-to-implement idea and resources.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM  Session II - Using Data in your School Counseling Program:  Learn how to collect, analyze, and interpret data and discover new ways to make data work for your comprehensive school counseling program.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM  Session III - Promising Practices in the Profession: come learn about practices, tips, and tools that work presented in “mini-sessions” from school counselors in our region.  Topics include mindfulness, classroom management, stress relief, DBT, data, and conflict resolution.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM  LUNCH Included  (Prepared by the RSC Culinary Students) & Optional RSC Tour

1:00 PM - 2:10 PM  Session IV - What, Why and How of Social Emotional Learning:  In helping students be more aware of their emotions and understand how to manage and regulate their reactions, we also better equip them to be more socially adept, build better relationships and make better decisions. These are integral parts of the school counselor’s job. This is social emotional learning (SEL). So, how do we accomplish this in our schools? In this session we will briefly explore what SEL is, why it’s important, and how it connects to comprehensive school counseling programs as we take a deeper dive into specific strategies and resources you can use in your school to foster social emotional learning and intelligence.

    2:10 PM  BREAK

2:20 PM - 3:30 PM  Session V - EVERFI Social and Emotional Development:  SEL resources designed to equip educators with tools to nurture skills compassion, leadership, conflict resolution, self-awareness, and resilience.
